The historically significant hotel complex was designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style by Reginald Davis Johnson and constructed in 1927. Holmes Structures came onboard for a phased renovation of the entire hotel complex, which included over 20 buildings. The schedule, phasing, and completion were coordinated to meet the owner’s requirements.
The project involved master planning, new and retrofit construction, as well as the staged renovation of the existing structures onsite. The existing structures and gardens were minimally impacted by construction. We worked closely with the architects and owners to minimize intrusion on existing structures during the renovations and seismic upgrades. This former Marriott Biltmore resort is currently owned by Ty Warner Hotels and Resorts and operated by Four Seasons.
